Are you keeping up with all the exciting things in the world of pen technology? Probably not. But you'll want to learn more about this particular pen called LIX.

What makes this pen so great? With it, you’ll be able to write and draw vertically. The ability to write and draw vertically is due to LIX being the world’s smallest 3D printer.

The LIX 3D printing pen is a great tool for making prototypes, artwork, jewelry, signs and other types of crafts. The LIX pen sounds a little like a hot glue gun; just like how the glue gun melts plastic that can be extruded to stick things together, the pen, states the Kickstarter page, “melts and cools coloured plastic, letting you create rigid and freestanding structures.” The pen’s hot-end nozzle is powered from a USB 3.0 port, meaning it’s as convenient as it is revolutionary.

“The plastic filament ABS/PLA is introduced in the upper extremity of Lix Pen. The filament goes through a patented mechanism while moving through the pen to finally reach the hot-end nozzle which melts and cools it down.”

From this cooled plastic, you can create anything you can think of. All you’ve got to do is use your imagination. Here’s some examples of what you could make with this awesome pen.

Apart from the pen’s capabilities, LIX is ergonomically-designed to be easy and comfortable to fit in your hand. It’s lightweight and smaller size in comparison to other brands also gives users a wider range in possibilities in what they can create. LIX is available in black matte and white matte and in two different styles – the 3D pen and a LIX ball pen. The 3D pen costs $139.95 and the ball pen costs $59.95.
