The lightsaber – a blade of plasma energy according to Wikipedia – is iconic to the Star Wars universe and, with the Force, separates it from the myriad number of science-fiction universes in popular culture. So it's understandable that geekdom would embrace these “laser swords” in such mediums as YouTube. We scoured the video site for the most creative ways geeks utilized light sabers and were amazed at our findings. Here are our top ten picks for the most creative videos utilizing light sabers from YouTube. Do you agree? Or are we missing some? Let us know and link to YOUR favorites in the comments!
10) Lightsaber Fight. How geeks and their friends used to fight with lightsabers.
9) The Force Re-Leashed: Star Wars. How geeks fight now.
8) Saber – Very funny Star Wars / Axe parody. Hot Jedi, Sith cat fight in a bar. Tight shirts and shorts go flying courtesy of the Force. Starring Claire Grant of Team Unicorn fame (and, hey, weren’t they featured in Geek #1?)
7) Hot Chick in a Light Saber fight. Why you shouldn’t be eying the wait staff when your girlfriend’s a Jedi/Sith master. Or maybe you should.
6) Cat Fights Dog Lightsaber. What if Darth Maul had been reborn as a cat?
5) DragonStar Z – Star Wars meets Dragon Ball. We normally don’t like crossovers but the special effects were just too cool.
4) Concrete Hustle Lightsaber Duel. You just need 1 deserted parking garage, 2 friends and 3 lightsabers for a good ol’ duel to the death.
3) Cello Wars (Star Wars Parody) Lightsaber Duel – ThePianoGuys. Both sides of the Force do battle musically with light saber “cello bows”. Guest-starring Chewbacca and gone-to-pot Darth Vader.
2) Sexy Jedi Bubblebath! Saber 2: Return of the Body Wash. Tight shorts and shirts. Leggy ex-Jedi, Sith. Bubblebath. A sequel! Once again featuring Claire Grant of Team Unicorn.
1) RvD2: Ryan vs. Dorkman 2. Epic choreography and effects. If only the Star Wars movies had more lightsaber battles as intense as this!
