If you've been to Best Buy recently, you might have noticed sections of their stores being rearranged.
Some of you are still looking at a taped-off area framed by orange safety cones. For the lucky few, you’ve already gotten an early taste of the new Samsung Experience Shops that are starting to fill in those gaps in more than 1400 Best Buy stores around the country. By May, they intend to have the shops set up in 900 stores, with the remainder coming by the start of summer, staffed with Samsung experts to answer any questions about the wide array of products.
“Samsung has been delivering the latest innovation across the consumer electronics category for some time,” said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Telecommunications America. “With the Samsung Experience Shops, we are ensuring consumers get the most of that innovation by learning how to leverage their mobile devices across our ecosystem of consumer electronics. Consumers will have one place to not only explore and learn about our full portfolio of mobile products, but also the support of a Samsung expert to help with selecting and servicing them. This will truly be a unique mobile shopping experience.”
Here in LA, we’ve already got a few shops up and running and I have to admit that the most fun part of visiting the Samsung Experience Shops is testing out their latest products and seeing how they easily connect with one another, sharing content between screens using Samsung’s AllShare Play functionality, whether you’re using any combination of Samsung smartphones, tablets, or televisions.
And, of course, it’s the best place to get first crack at experiencing the Galaxy S 4 smartphones, starting April 27th. After the Galaxy S III made a big splash in the smartphone world last year, the Galaxy S 4 is set to take their Android market dominance to the next level. The Galaxy S 4 is building upon that success with new features that include a dual camera mode that lets you take two pictures at once from both sides of the phone and Air Gesture, which lets you interact with the phone with the wave of your hand, without even touching it!
Again, watch for the Samsung Experience Shops to pop up in Best Buy stores across the country over the next few weeks. If you find a Samsung shop at a store near you, Tweet us a picture while there at @geekexchange or use the hashtag #samsungGEEK with the Best Buy location city and state.
