Today, Valve added what's sure to be a well-used feature to the Steam Community Hubs - "Steam Guides." Watch your back, GameFAQs.
Through Steam Guides, users will be able to “upload images, add screenshots and embed YouTube videos,” according to a Valve press release. Probably the most interesting & unique aspect of Steam Guides is that you’ll be able to access the content in-game via Steam Overlay. So, you won’t have to minimize The Secret of Monkey Island to Google the location of the rubber chicken with the pulley in the middle of it. Sounds like a good deal to me!
Community members will also be able to create guides for the non-gaming (aka sort of boring) applications available through Steam. Visit this link for instructions on how to access guides (over 1,000 currently available, thanks to an extended beta) and create your own. Feel free to share links to your work(s) as a comment in this post.
