20th Century Fox has released the latest trailer for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, about a ship’s search for an uncharted paradise that proves to be a dangerous world. The trailer shows off a lot more footage and doesn’t hold back on the fact that this is an ALIEN movie, with the iconic Xenomorph on full, brutal display.

This week has already had a great turn out for big movie trailers with Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, which premiered its new trailer on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and two teasers for Netflix’s Bright and Okja. The studio recently revealed the full cast for Alien: Covenant, including James Franco, in a photo and video prologue showcasing the crew of the Covenant colony ship.

Check out the new trailer for Alien: Covenant below:

It’s no surprise that the studio wants there to be no mistake that the Xenomorphs and all that delicious iconography from Scott’s first film – and the likes of James Cameron and David Fincher’s follow-ups – will be very present in Alien: Covenant. We get a better look at the new planet seen in the first trailer, which will serve as a sort of “Paradise Lost,” a facade to lure and trap humanity, a personal hell for all those involved.

20th Century Fox also released a new one-sheet poster that features a shadowy egg with the warning “hide.” This new poster parallels the film’s earlier one-sheet of the shadowy Xenomorph with the warning “run” towards the end of 2016. This new one-sheet also calls back to the 1979 original poster, signaling how this new entry in the Alien mythos will start to play into the larger world of Ridley Scott’s original masterpiece.

Alien: Covenant

Here’s the official synopsis:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise.  The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world.  When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Starring Katherine Waterston, Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby, Alien: Covenant hits theaters on May 19, 2017.
