You can catch Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry AKA Aquaman this weekend in Warner Bros. and DC’s massive blockbuster, Justice League, but Momoa will also be appearing again on a much smaller scale. Frontier is returning to Netflix for a sophomore season and we have the official trailer for your viewing pleasure.
Set in Canada during the 18th century, the series goes inside the ruthless and violent fur trade industry as it follows Declan Harp (as played by Jason Momoa), a part-Irish, part-Cree (Metis) outlaw who is campaigning to breach the Hudson’s Bay Company’s monopoly on the fur trade in Canada.
Check out the Netflix trailer for season 2 of Frontier below:
After he escaped the hangman’s noose at the end of season one it turns out that Declan’s whereabouts are unknown to both his allies and enemies, leading to a bounty upon his head as he resurfaces to exact bloody revenge. In this epic second season, the frontier expands with spectacular new views of the northern wilderness, and new players entering the ruthless game in the quest for power and wealth – pushing everyone to either embrace unknown alliances or arm themselves against them.
Frontier also stars Landon Liboriron (DeGrassi: The Next Generation, Hemlock Grove), Jessica Matten (Shadow Hunters: The Mortal Instruments), Zoe Boyle (Downton Abbey, Sons of Anarchy), Alun Armstrong (The Mummy Returns, Sleepy Hollow), Shawn Doyle (Big Love), and Katie McGrath, who was also promoted to season regular on the third season of CW’s Supergirl.
Co-created by Brad Peyton, Rob Blackie, and Peter Blackie, Frontier is a co-production between Canada’s Discovery Channel and Netflix. The second season of Frontier is set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, November 24th in its entirety.
