John Wick Chapter 2

The trailer for John Wick: Chapter 2 was released on Monday, and features an impressive body count as Reeves fends off several baddies out to finally put him down. It also features a bit of a reunion for Reeves and Laurence Fishburne, who starred together in all three Matrix films as Neo and Morpheus.

Reeves reprises his titular role as legendary hitman John Wick, and is forced out of retirement once again when a former associate plots to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. John Wick: Chapter 2 is retaining the color palette and neon, hyper-kinetic style of the first one on an even bigger budget. Everyone’s trying to kill Keanu Reeves, but by the end of the trailer he’s stating in his trademark murmur: “I’ll kill them all,” which really seems to be the tagline for this whole planned trilogy.

Check out the new trailer below:

Chad Stahelski is directing solo this time around, since his John Wick co-director David Leitch is off directing Deadpool 2 and the upcoming Charlize Theron spy thriller The Coldest City, but rest-assured both are capable filmmakers without the other. According to Stahelski, “Chapter 2 is to John Wick what Aliens was to Alien, in that it takes the premise in a different direction.”

While we’ll have to wait and see how this “different direction” pans out, one thing we definitely know is different is that John Wick: Chapter 2 won’t be killing off any puppies this time around, so rest assured animals lovers the world over.

The film also stars John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick, Bridget Moynahan, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, Common, Peter Stormare, and Riccardo Scamarcio. John Wick: Chapter 2 opens in theaters on February 10, 2017.
