Just in case you thought CBS was pulling a fast one on all of us, we have proof Star Trek: Discovery is officially in production.

This week, CBS piqued our curiosity with a short featurette giving eager fans a look at the set construction, new costumes and a dramatic backlit silhouette of the captain’s chair. You’ll find nothing in the way of real spoilers here, so don’t get your hopes up. The most we could say is that these probably belong to Klingons:

Other than that, everything’s still a little bit too new to do anything other than squee a bit watching the Discovery come together on a soundstage. Looks like CBS insisting on more time in order to ensure quality wasn’t lip service. Take a peek below for yourself and just see if you don’t get goosebumps.

Star Trek: Discovery has yet to announce a premiere date, but CBS confirmed it’s begun production in Toronto as of January. Check back at Geek for more updates!
