The Flash

The CW has understandably done a lot of marketing for their massive and unprecedented 4 series crossover event, which kicks off with tonight’s episode of Supergirl. The newest trailer, released this morning gives us our best look yet at the alien invaders known as The Dominators. Check it out right here!

Admittedly, the first images of The Dominators were a little underwhelming as the CGI looked a little wonky. This new clip does a great job dispelling those thoughts as they look quite fierce with their crazy Baraka-esque teeth. That’s a Mortal Kombat reference in case you didn’t know. In all seriousness though, they look nasty and we can’t wait to see all of our CWverse heroes rise to the challenge they present.

Surprisingly you can briefly see Deathstroke in action in this trailer as well. Perhaps more shocking is who he’s squaring off with. Considering his past with Oliver many of us assumed they would be resorting to fisticuffs again but in the trailer it’s none other than the Sara Lance fighting the deadly mercenary. His inclusion in the Invasion! event kind of gets lost in the shuffle when there are so many characters already, but it should be interesting to see how exactly he’s involved.

Deathstroke

Lastly, this trailer gives us more of a feel for what the overall dynamic appears to be for the heroes. It seems that Barry will serve as the connective tissue between shows that enables him to bring everyone together, Kara will be their super powered ace in the hole so to speak, and Oliver will take on the role of the seasoned veteran that will likely be issuing at least some of the orders to the rest.

The Invasion! event begins tonight with Supergirl at 8:00p.m. EST and will continue through the week on The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow all in the same time slot. Frankly, we can’t wait for the event to finally launch tonight and we have a feeling we’ll be looking a lot like H.R. and Felicity once it finally arrives.

HR and Felicity

Stay tuned for our continued coverage of the epic event and be sure to let us know what you think of the trailer and the event in general in the comments section below.

The kind of Geek that has several shelves on my book case dedicated to Star Wars novels. Star Wars is essentially a way of life for me. Other things are cool too. Generally a big fan/critic of movies, I try to go to the theater once a week. There's a lot of great TV out there too, chances are if I can, I'll write about the stuff I love. I dig the Marvel and D.C. universes so far...except Suicide Squad...that was a disappointment. I love a lot of music but I gravitate to alternative and punk. The Libertines are my absolute favorite. Michigan born and raised and I root for my home teams; Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, Pistons and Spartans.
