The swamp-dwelling slasher returns in Adam Green’s Victor Crowley, the fourth installment in his Hatchet franchise. The film completed its theatrical roadshow presentation last year, and now Dark Sky is bringing the horror film to DVD, Blu-ray, and VOD next month. We have the first trailer to whet your appetite until then.

A teaser came out late last year but this is the official trailer. Running just over 2 minutes, it sets up the plot, and of course, brings some bloody brutality too. Writer and director Adam Green brings an assured touch to the new movie that is sure to satisfy fans and horror hounds alike. Welcome back to the Bayou!

Check out the official trailer for Victor Crowley below:

Set ten years after the massacre featured in the series’ first three movies, lone survivor Andrew Yong has spent over a decade claiming that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the deaths of the forty-nine people killed in the original trilogy of films. Yong’s allegations have been met with widespread disbelief, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.

“The only survivor that was ever found was Parry Shen’s character Andrew Yong,” Green told EW last summer. “Now, ten years, later, he’s kind of become a little bit of a celebrity. At one point he’s compared to ‘the OJ Simpson of Honey Island Swamp’ because most people do not buy his story, but he got off because there was no evidence that he had done it. So, some people love him, a lot of people hate him, and now he’s written a book, which he is promoting on the 10th anniversary of the events of 2007. He is convinced to do one final interview back at the scene of the massacre, where he has never returned.”

Back in August 2017, fans went to what they thought was a 10th-anniversary screening of the original Hatchet in Hollywood. They were instead treated to a showing of Victor Crowley, a movie made entirely in secret and based on a script Green had written sometime before that.

Victor Crowley stars Kane Hodder, Dave Sheridan, Brian Quinn, Tiffany Shepis, Laura Ortiz, Chase Williamson, Parry Shen, Blake Woodruff and Jonah Ray. Hodder (best known for playing Jason Voorhees) and Shen are the only two actors who have appeared in all three previous films in the Hatchet franchise. The film also features the infamous star of the ’80s camp classic Sleepaway Camp, Felissa Rose.
