Zombies will descend like never before on San Diego Comic-Con when Image comics brings the Walking Dead Escape to Petco Plaza across the street from the biggest pop culture event on the planet. When you sign up for this experience, you can choose to take a stroll through an undead-infested post-apocalyptic nightmare, you can become a walker yourself, or you can just watch safely from on high. Each option has its price (being a survivor runs from $70 in advance to $90 on site, while the other options, such as being a zombie or spectator, have yet to be announced), but you can be sure that it will be one of the most sought-after, one-of-a-kind experiences at Comic-Con.
While it’s technically an obstacle course that will let you climb, crawl, and slide your way around the zombie horde, you won’t be required to run screaming for the exit as quickly as possible. The whole course should take about 45 minutes to complete at a steady pace, but you can take it at your own speed and choose to exert yourself as much or as little as you want. However, the goal is to avoid contact with the walkers as much as possible to prevent yourself from being listed among the “infected” when you get to the end of the course. Either way, participants will receive an Exclusive Special Edition 100th issue of the Walking Dead. Spectators will receive an Exclusive Special Edition poster of the Walking Dead 100th issue cover.
If you’re interested in taking part in this unique event while at Comic-Con (it’s not clear if a badge is required, but I wouldn’t think so), be sure to sign up online (RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!) before it’s too late!
